Position of English-language transcriber (M/F), full-time or part-time fixed-term contract

Mission

ELDA’s (Evaluation and Language resources Distribution Agency, www.elda.org) main activities are the distribution and production of language resources, as well as the evaluation of language technologies (automatic translation, speech recognition, etc.).

As part of its production activities, ELDA is offering a full-time or part-time position for a transcriber (M/F) to build up a corpus of transcriptions in English.

Mission:

It consists in transcribing 21 hours of telephone conversations in the financial field in order to evaluate and improve the automatic transcription system. The activity will be achieved using a specific software and specific transcription conventions. Software and conventions training will be provided by the employer. Working on premises at ELDA (Paris 13e) is mandatory.

Qualifications:

• English mother tongue
• Very good level of English spelling and grammar
• Good mastery of IT tools
• Ability to integrate transcription rules and follow them scrupulously and consistently.

Duration: approximately 2 months for a full-time position.

Salary: €1,766.92 gross per month based on a 35-hour working week.
