After obtaining my bachelor's degree in financial and economic law at Chung Yung, I went to San Francisco to study criminology and communication as part of a student exchange programme. I then worked for an English testing service company in Taiwan as a Marketing and Customer Relations Manager for 4 years.
I then moved to France to go back to school and do a Master of Science in marketing, management and communication at Toulouse Business School. I did my work-linked master's at ALTIJ Law Firm.
Finally, before working at The Consumer Goods Forum, I was Community Success Manager at OCUS France, where I managed a community of 1,200 international photographers, managed and developed customer relations, and also trained photographers through webinars.
Today, as Membership & Engagement Manager, I'm responsible for sales, finance and community management at The Consumer Goods Forum.
How long have you been in France?
I arrived in France in 2018.
Did you have any problems while looking for a job? If so, which one(s)?
No, I haven't really encountered any difficulties when applying for jobs. Even if the economic situation is complicated today, it hasn't been an obstacle when I've been looking for a job.
How would you describe the hiring process you experienced? How many steps did it take?
I find the recruitment process quite long in general. There are a lot of stages, but they're concentrated in a short space of time. I'd say that on average I go through 7 stages, over a period of 2 weeks.
What are the differences in the "everyday life" that surprised you the most in France?
I come from Taiwan and it's very different from France. I find that here there's more multicultural diversity, whereas in Taiwan it's mainly an Asian culture that prevails.
How did you find housing in France?
I found my accommodation thanks to Facebook. It wasn't very difficult because there are lots of online groups for people from Asia and we help each other a lot.
What do you like the most in your current job?
I really like the people in my team and the relationship we have. What I like about The Consumer Goods Forum is that the company is very international and the employees are very open-minded. What's more, I'm never bored at my job because it's very interesting and I don't have a routine at the moment.
